Barcode Generator – EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128 & More. No watermark added by QuickConvertOnline. Free, no account needed.
About Barcode generator
The barcode generator creates linear barcodes in seven common formats: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39 and ITF. Choose the type, enter the number or text, and the barcode renders instantly, with the human-readable text below the bars if you want it.
For retail formats, enter the number without its check digit and the tool adds it, or include it and the tool verifies it and tells you the correct digit if it is wrong. Barcodes are drawn in your browser with zxing-wasm and download as PNG or SVG.

Frequently asked questions
Which barcode type should I use?
Use EAN-13 for retail products in most countries and UPC-A for products sold mainly in the US and Canada. EAN-8 and UPC-E are compact versions for small packages. Code 128 suits internal labels with letters and numbers, and ITF suits numeric codes on shipping cartons.
How does the check digit work?
The last digit of an EAN or UPC number is calculated from the others to catch reading errors. Enter 12 digits for EAN-13, 7 for EAN-8 or 11 for UPC-A and the check digit is added for you. If you enter the full number with a wrong last digit, the tool shows the correct one.
How many digits does each format need?
EAN-13 takes 12 or 13 digits, EAN-8 takes 7 or 8, UPC-A takes 11 or 12, and UPC-E takes 6 to 8. The shorter length leaves out the check digit. Input for any format is limited to 80 characters.
Can I get a barcode number for my product here?
No. Retail barcodes need a number registered to your company through GS1 so that stores can identify the product. This tool encodes numbers you already have. For internal uses, such as inventory, any value in Code 128 works.
Is PNG or SVG better for printing barcodes?
SVG is best for labels and packaging because it stays sharp at any size. For PNG, choose a higher scale so each bar is several pixels wide; enlarging a small PNG later blurs the edges and can make it unreadable.
