Split PDF
Split PDF Online – Separate Pages or Custom Page Ranges. No watermark added by QuickConvertOnline. Free, no account needed.
About Split PDF
Split PDF breaks one document into several smaller PDFs. Choose One file per page to get every page as its own file, or Custom ranges to define each output yourself, such as 1-3; 4-6; 7, where every semicolon starts a new file.
It is useful when a scanner saved a whole stack as one PDF, when an upload portal limits file size, or when different pages go to different people. Splitting runs locally with pdf-lib, so confidential statements and contracts stay on your device, and there is no watermark or sign-up.
How to use Split PDF
- Drop a PDF onto the page or select Choose PDF. You can add up to 12 PDFs to split each one with the same settings.
- Choose a Split mode: One file per page or Custom ranges.
- For custom ranges, type the groups separated by semicolons, for example 1-3; 4-6; 7.
- Select Apply, then download the parts individually or use the ZIP download controls. Large jobs are grouped into separate ZIP bundles.
Features
- Two modes: every page as a separate PDF, or any set of page ranges you define.
- Each range can mix single pages and spans, such as 1, 4-6, and the same page can appear in more than one output.
- Names the parts in sequence, such as report-001.pdf and report-002.pdf, so they sort correctly.
- Creates up to 500 output files per PDF, with individual downloads and ZIP bundles for convenient batch saving.
- Copies pages without re-rendering them, and form fields on the kept pages keep working.
- Accepts up to 12 PDFs, each up to 50 MB and 500 pages, with 100 MB and 1,000 source pages in total.
Common uses
- Separating a batch scan of several documents into individual files.
- Breaking a large PDF into parts that fit an email or portal size limit.
- Sending each chapter or section of a manual to a different reviewer.
- Turning a year of combined statements into one file per month.
Tips
- Page numbers refer to the position in the file, as shown under each thumbnail, not to numbers printed on the pages.
- If you only need one new file from a selection of pages, Extract PDF pages is quicker.
- Each part retains the resources its pages still reference. Fonts and other shared objects can make the combined size of the parts larger than the original; this is not determined by page count alone.
- Keep the page open until downloads finish. Very large jobs still depend on the browser’s available memory and storage capacity.
Frequently asked questions
How do I split a PDF into separate pages?
Choose One file per page, select Apply and download the individual files or offered ZIP bundles. Every page becomes its own numbered PDF, so a 20-page document gives you 20 files.
How do I split a PDF by page ranges?
Choose Custom ranges and list each output separated by semicolons. For example, 1-3; 4-10; 11 creates three PDFs: pages 1 to 3, pages 4 to 10 and page 11 alone. Inside one range you can also combine pages with commas, such as 1, 5-7.
Does splitting a PDF reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied into each new file as they are, so text, vector graphics and images look exactly the same. Each part can carry shared resources such as fonts, so the parts together are often larger than the original.
Can I separate all 500 pages of a PDF?
Yes, a supported source PDF may contain up to 500 pages within the input-size limit. The split workflow does not reject the job solely because the combined parts exceed 150 MB. ZIP downloads are grouped for large jobs. Available browser memory, storage and processing time still place practical limits on very complex files.
Can I split several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 12 PDFs within the combined input limits and the same split mode applies to each. Names include the source file position and name so parts remain distinct. Larger result sets can be divided across several ZIP bundles.
