About Image comparison

The image comparison tool places two images on top of each other with a slider between them. Drag across the picture to reveal more of the first or the second image, which makes small changes in edits, compression or retouching easy to spot.

It is useful for photographers comparing edits, developers checking compressed or resized output and designers reviewing two versions of a mockup. When you find a good split, you can download it as a before-and-after image in PNG, JPG or WebP. Both files stay on your device.

How to use Image comparison

  1. Drop two images onto the upload box, or add them one after the other; the first is the original.
  2. Use the arrow buttons to swap the order if needed.
  3. Drag across the comparison view or use the Position slider to move the dividing line.
  4. Choose an output format and click Download to save the split image.

Frequently asked questions

Which image appears on which side?

The first image, labeled Original, shows to the left of the dividing line, and the second, labeled Changed, shows to the right. Swap them with the arrow buttons in the file list.

Can I compare images with different sizes?

Yes. The second image is scaled to fit within the first image’s dimensions while keeping its proportions. For an exact pixel comparison, both images should have the same width and height.

Does the tool highlight differences automatically?

No. It is a visual slider comparison: you move the divider and look for changes yourself. It does not calculate or mark the pixels that differ.

Can I save the before-and-after view?

Yes. The download contains the comparison exactly as split by the slider, at the size of the first image. Move the divider to the position you want, choose PNG, JPG or WebP and click Download.
